Our Towplanes

The Cub is an aeroplane used by the club for launching gliders into the air with the freedom to go to heights greater than a winch launch and can take the glider to better areas of lift.
It is a two seater aeroplane allowing, already qualified pilots,to develop the skills needed for this type of launch.

This picture gives you some idea of what it looks like with the glider being towed.The rope is 22m long and both are protected from excessive forces by a weak link

This is a French designed 4 seat touring aeroplane. However it is also very capable of towing gliders and again can be used not only for towing but training pilots the skills for aerotowing
