Gliding is all about flying real aircraft that use rising air currents instead of an engine to stay airborne. Glider flights can range from a gentle float around the local area to cross country tasks covering hundreds of kilometres at speeds of 100kph and more.
Gliding is exhilarating yet relaxing, challenging yet rewarding, sociable yet serene. It's occasionally frustrating but always fascinating. No two flights are quite the same and there's always something new to learn, new places to see and new friends to meet.
We pride ourselves on being the friendly gliding club and welcome visitors and members alike from far and wide. Our excellent airfield lies in open Cotswold airspace and we have ten club aircraft plus training and ground facilities that are the envy of many.
Gliding is one of the most inclusive, accessible and safe of all the adventure sports. It can be cheaper than golf, is usually drier than sailing and is less painful than snowboarding! You don't need to be astronaut material, if you can drive you can probably learn to fly.
